With the Avs dealing with a string of injuries to depth guys, their 23 man roster for opening night was a bit foggy to say the least.
But we finally know.
Mikko Rantanen, Jarome Iginla and Blake Comeau are practicing as regulars again. Mike Chambers of the Denver Post says it looks they will be ready for opening night. However, John Mitchell is still not practicing.
The Avalanche announced Tuesday that they have reassigned forwards Mike Sislo and Trent Vogelhuber to the San Antonio Rampage.
That means the roster is currently at 24.
What this means is that if John Mitchell isn’t a go for opening night, he’ll be placed on injured reserve and newly signed Gabriel Bourque will take his spot on the 23 man roster. If John Mitchell is ready for opening night, Gabriel Bourque, who already cleared waivers, will be reassigned to the San Antonio Rampage.
Let’s take a look at the Avalanche depth chart for opening night.
