Avs Add Kerfoot

The Colorado Avalanche has made up for losing Hobey Baker winner Will Butcher to free agency by signing two of the top three college free agents.

Last week, the Avs signed Dominic Toninato to a two year ELC (Entry Level Contract). On August 23, as first reported by TSN’s Darren Dreger, Alex Kerfoot has decided to sign with the Avalanche. The ELC is a two year deal.

Kerfoot, 23, was drafted in the 5th round by the New Jersey Devils in the 2012 Draft. The 5’10 180 pound centerman has played the last four years at Harvard University. In his senior year, Kerfoot captained Harvard and posted 16 goals and 45 points in 36 games. In 121 games in college hockey, Kerfoot scored 36 goals and 123 points.
